Meet the staff

Michael C. Hollie, MD

Lifestyle Physician

Dr. Hollie is the speaker for "Dinner with the Doctor'' (DWTD) an instructional program developed to educate people about how to implement a whole food, plant based (WFPB) approach for treating, preventing and reversing disease. DWTD offers programs consisting of a health presentation along with a tasty WFPB meal served to the attendees. DWTD also offers oil free, WFPB food preparation demonstrations to allow participants to see first-hand how they can cook healthy meals at home. Dr Hollie is also the speaker for Dinner with the Doctor in Romania.

Dr. Hollie was the medical consultant for, and also appears in the documentary Eating You Alive. Eating You Alive features leading medical experts and researchers taking a scientific look at the reasons we’re so sick, who’s responsible for feeding us the wrong information and how we can use simple, whole food, plant based nutrition to take control of our health.

Dr. Hollie is a board member for the T. Colin Campbell Center for Nutrition Studies.

Dr. Hollie and his wife Cindy Ford Hollie, MD have two adult sons and the entire family embraces the WFPB approach to eating and health.

Cynthia Ford Hollie, MD

DWTD Coordinator

Coordinates the logistical aspects for the monthly programs and supports guests with their health needs.

Retired Psychiatrist who is actively involved with health and Bible outreach in East Ridge, TN. Member of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine. Medical Doctor (MD) degree from Loma Linda University School of Medicine, Loma Linda, California. Psychiatry residency at Loma Linda University Medical Center, Loma Linda, California.

Completed T. Colin Campbell Center for Nutrition Studies Plant-based Nutrition Certificate through eCornell.

Phyllis Smith, MSNE

Nutritionist
Website Manager

Responsible for website content and updates as well as program resources. Supports guests with their health needs.

Has coordinated health fairs and a city-wide, community medical clinic. Has taught cooking classes and developed recipes for vegan and whole food, plant-based lifestyles.

Phyllis holds a Masters in Nutrition Education and a Bachelor's degree in Health and Wellness.

Dorothea Sarli

Nutritionist

Teaches nutrition at Southern Adventist University where she challenges students to make healthier nutrition choices and enjoys hearing their success stories. Students often report losing extra weight, clearing up acne, sleeping better at night, or just feeling better.

In addition, she works on a research team at Southern Adventist University exploring metabolic parameters for women who want to lose weight. She uses a plant-based system of menus and recipes that she designed to meet the varied nutrient needs of each subject.

Dorothea also provides plant-based nutrition counseling through her practice, Sarli Nutrition. She posts health tips and recipes on her blog at sarlinutrition.com.

Dorothea holds a Masters degree in Human Nutrition from Andrews University and is a licensed dietitian nutritionist.
