Poppy Seed Dressing


  • 1/2 C raw cashews
  • 1/3 C non-dairy milk
  • 1 TBS maple syrup
  • Juice from one lemon
  • Juice from one orange
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp. onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp. poppy seeds


  1. If you don't have a high-speed blender (such as a Vita-mix), soak cashews in water for 2-3 hours and then drain the water.
  2. Put the cashews in a blender with all ingredients except poppy seeds.
  3. Blend until smooth, about 1 -2 minutes.
  4. Pour the dressing into a container and stir in the poppy seeds.
  5. Chill in the refrigerator for 1-2 hours before use. May stir in 1-2 TBS of nondairy milk if the dressing seems too thick when ready to use.
  6. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
